God is doing a new thing this spring — bringing fresh streams of grace to our city and our lives. A word for our community in this season of second chances.
As we move deeper into this spring season, I find myself reflecting on the profound beauty of God's timing. All around us here in Chicago, the earth is waking up. The trees that looked so barren just a few weeks ago are now budding with new life, reminding us that winter never has the final word. This natural rhythm of death and resurrection isn't just something we observe in nature; it is the very heartbeat of our faith and the promise God makes to each of us.
April is recognized as Second Chance Month, a time when our city focuses on returning citizens and the vital work of community restoration. It is a powerful reminder that our God is fundamentally a God of second chances. When we look at our own lives, our families, and our neighborhoods on the South Side, we know that the work of rebuilding is rarely easy. It requires patience, grace, and a stubborn hope that refuses to give up when things get difficult.
The prophet Isaiah understood this kind of hope perfectly when he declared that God is doing a new thing, making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. That promise from Isaiah 43:19 isn't just ancient history. It is a living, breathing reality for us today. God is actively at work in our community, bringing fresh streams of grace into places that have felt dry and forgotten.
At Renewal Life Church, we are called to partner with God in this restorative work. We see the challenges around us, but we also see the incredible resilience of our people. Whether it is supporting those who are seeking a fresh start, advocating for justice, or simply being a safe haven for the brokenhearted, our mission remains clear. We will rebuild. We will continue to be God's Church. We will continue to SERVE our community.
This season of renewal is an invitation for all of us to examine our own hearts. Where do you need a fresh start? What areas of your life feel like a wasteland waiting for God's living water? I want to encourage you today that no situation is beyond His reach, and no person is beyond His grace. The same power that brings the dead of winter back to life is available to you right now.
I would love to see you this Sunday as we gather to worship and celebrate the God who makes all things new. Bring your family, bring a friend, and come expecting to encounter His presence. Let's continue to pray for our city, support one another, and walk together in the beautiful light of His grace.
Join us Sundays at 10:00 AM & 12:45 PM CST on YouTube.
