Faithful Living

A 6-Week Journey in Biblical Stewardship

"Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful." — 1 Corinthians 4:2

Stewardship Is a Lifestyle, Not a Campaign

Stewardship is too often reduced to an annual church budget pledge. But the biblical vision is far greater. It is the faithful management of everything God has entrusted to us — for His glory and the good of others.

Every area of life is a stewardship opportunity: time, talents, spiritual gifts, relationships, health, income, and creation.

Four Truths That Run Through Every Session

01

Lordship

God is the Owner of all things. We own nothing.

Psalm 24:1
02

Stewardship

We are His managers, entrusted with His resources.

Genesis 1:26-28
03

Faithfulness

God requires faithfulness, not perfection or success.

1 Corinthians 4:2
04

Worship

Every act of faithful stewardship is an act of worship.

Colossians 3:23

Stewardship is not about what we give — it's about who we are.

Six Weeks, Five Pillars, One Life of Worship

Each week builds on the last — from identity to action. Every session includes teaching, scripture, discussion questions, and a practical challenge.

Week 1

The Foundation of Stewardship

"The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it."
— Psalm 24:1

God owns everything — our time, talents, bodies, and money. This liberating truth frees us from the burden of being the ultimate provider. We are simply managers of what belongs to Him.

Key Takeaways
  • Accountability: We are accountable to God for how we manage what He has entrusted to us.
  • No Hoarding: We cannot hoard what was never ours to begin with.
  • Freedom to Give: We are free to be generous, because generosity costs us nothing that was truly ours.
Week 2

The Stewardship of Time

"So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."
— Psalm 90:12

Time is your most precious non-renewable resource. Everyone gets 24 hours — the question is what you do with them. The problem is rarely a lack of time; it is a lack of priority.

Key Takeaways
  • Put the big rocks in first: schedule your priorities before the trivial fills your day.
  • Your 'Big Rocks': Time with God, family, health, church involvement, and your God-given calling.
  • The Sabbath Principle: Rest is not laziness — it is an act of trust and worship (Exodus 20:8-11).
Week 3

The Stewardship of Talents & Gifts

"As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."
— 1 Peter 4:10

Every believer is uniquely gifted for a purpose. God has made a strategic investment in you — and He expects a return. Your natural talents and spiritual gifts are not for you alone; they are for the building up of the whole church.

Key Takeaways
  • Natural Talents: Abilities present from birth (artistic, analytical, athletic, etc.).
  • Spiritual Gifts: Special empowerments from the Holy Spirit for building up the church.
  • 4 Questions: What do you enjoy? What are you good at? What do others affirm in you? What needs stir your heart?
Week 4

The Stewardship of Health

"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you?"
— 1 Corinthians 6:19

A temple is a sacred place, set apart for God's presence. If the Spirit dwells in us, our bodies are not our own. Physical health is not a secular concern — how we eat, sleep, and move are spiritual decisions and acts of worship.

Key Takeaways
  • Nourishment: Not a legalistic diet, but wisdom and moderation — choosing life-giving foods.
  • Movement: Our bodies were designed to move. Physical activity keeps us strong for service.
  • Rest: Sleep and Sabbath are not optional. God designed us to need rest for renewal.
Week 5

The Stewardship of Treasure

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
— Matthew 6:21

Money is a spiritual thermometer. Your bank statement reveals your heart. The biblical pattern reverses the world's order: Give first, Save wisely, Live contentedly — rather than live first and give leftovers.

Key Takeaways
  • Give First: Honor God with the firstfruits. Giving breaks the grip of greed (Proverbs 3:9).
  • Save Second: Prepare for the future with wisdom (Proverbs 21:20).
  • Live on the Rest: Cultivate contentment and enjoy what God provides, free from debt (Hebrews 13:5).
Week 6

The Stewardship of Creation & Testimony

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
— Matthew 5:16

Stewardship extends to the world God made and to the witness of our daily lives. People watch how we live before they listen to what we say. A faithful life is the most powerful sermon.

Key Takeaways
  • Creation Care: Reduce waste, practice ethical consumption, and enjoy and protect what God made.
  • Workplace: Excellence and integrity in your job demonstrate that you work for a higher Master.
  • Community & Home: Radical generosity and faithfulness in private build the character that sustains public witness.
